Part 1: Your World

The game world will be an alternate Earth that we will be creating as a group.

This will be a (mostly) site-based campaign.

Three Assumptions

You get to create three assumptions about the world.

Think broadly.

Let me share my three as examples.

Magic and Tech don't mix

Magic as used by people doesn't interact well with modern technological devices.

Confederate States of America

The South won their war for independence and it is now known that states may opt to leave the union.

The CSA was the last first world power to end slavery, doing so between the World Wars.

Honor & Tradition are meaningful

Entities of the supernatural world have a long tradition of honoring agreements.

The more power a creature has, the more it is bound by it's word.

World War 2 was orchestrated by necromancers

And they loved it

Allegheny City is your home

You know it as Pittsburgh.

Yes, this is so that I can fill my hometown with monsters.

History

Prior to 1907 the twin cities of Pittsburgh and Allegheny City sat across the Allegheny river, each growing in power. After some shrewd political maneuvering by Mayor Percy Hunter the two cities were merged into one in the fall of 1907.

Allegheny City is a genuine melting pot of cultures, especially from western and eastern Europe.

Western University of Pennsylvania

Founded in 1787 on what was then the American frontier, WUP is one of the oldest continuously chartered institutions of higher education in the United States. This university is a state-sponsored research institution.

The Brewed Awakening coffee shop is on campus, in the main business district on Forbes Avenue.

Part 2: Your Story

Let's build your character!

Sometimes life is a crapshoot

Let's make some crap

Write down life things

They can be supernatural or mundane, events, preferences, or ethnicities. Here are some examples.

Is a cat person

• Do they use the cats to ward off evil spirits
• Are they a werewolf who happens to prefer cats?
• Maybe they are just a crazy cat lady?

Illiterate

You can't read this.

• They were raised off the grid
• From a foreign country and can't read English
• Has very bad dyslexia

Raised to believe in a host of demons named after IKEA furniture

My examples were short, but yours can be long and involved

When you're done give them to me

Use them to build up a personality & background
