Lukas was ready to become a traveling merchant, joining an old family
friend on the road.
 
• Major childhood influences, traumas, events, emotional wounds:
For Lukas, life was good.  The Aran Farm was the pride of it’s
hamlet, drawing in the best of the business to come to the village.  Until
a fateful evening when an unexpected visitor brought death onto the Aran
farm, slaying Lukas’s family as he watched.  Lukas tried to fight back,
using his father’s morningstar but was overpowered by the armored brute
that had slain his family.
 
It was as the brute raised his mace to deliver the final blow, time
stopped, and the Dark God of Magic, Velsharoon, made him an offer.  “I
offer you revenge, child, not just on your family’s killer but also upon
the one who ordered their death.  If you wish to keep this power, to use
as you see fit, you must burn this house to the ground and leave this
village once your revenge is complete.”
 
Lukas, blinded by fear, grief and rage, accepted.  Velsharoon smiled,
and said.  “All you need to know for your task ahead is hidden within the
killer’s armor.”  As time flowed again, power coursed through Lukas body
and into his arm, and he swung his mace, shattering the armored brute’s
mask and skull.  Upon removing the brute’s armor, Lukas understood why
Velsharoon would let him keep the dark power with so little obligation.
Lukas’s own Uncle Victor had been secretly worshiping Velsharoon for most
of his life and it was the village headmaster who had ordered the his
murder to raise his own position by removing his competition.  Also on the
death warrant was a time, and a location, setting a meeting for that
night.
 
Lukas took his Father’s morningstar, His mother’s locket and his
backpack, previously loaded for travel with his uncle.  As he left, Lukas
removed the nameless brute’s body from his house and the set it ablaze as
a funeral pyre for his family.
 
Arriving at the specified meeting point, Lukas confronted the village
headmaster.  After a short but fierce fight, the headmaster fell and
Lukas’ revenge for his family was complete.
 
Lukas placed the death warrant within the Headmaster’s coat and then
set his sights on the road ahead and began the journey to he and his
uncle’s original destination, Lone Rock City.
 
• Talents:  Having been tasked with keeping an eye on his troublemaking
little brother, Lukas learned to read his brother’s intentions quite well
and found that he could sometimes predict the actions of his other
friends.
 
• Flaws, vulnerabilities:  Slightly naive, Honest to a fault.  Can’t stand
insults aimed at his family, can be rash if a family is threatened.
 
• Strengths:  Lucas now makes it a point to keep a cool head under
pressure, after realizing he would have had a good chance at revenge had
he only appealed to the other townsfolk.
 
• Religious affiliation/Patron Diety:  Velsharoon gave him power but Lukas
owes nothing more to Velsharoon, having fullfulled his end of the deal he
made.  His family would pray to Meilikki for good harvests, etc.
 
• Attitudes, personality type–introvert or extrovert, optimist or
pessimist: Optimist, Outgoing, friendly, generous and kind.  Feels little
grief from the loss of his family, having personally avenged their deaths.
 
Often states how much worse it could be.
 
• Primary relationships, marital status and capacity for intimacy:  Has no
real friends left.  Single.  Seeks to have a family, but only once he is
much stronger.
 
• Occupation:  Mercenary, with principles.
 
• Education:  Better than average farmer’s education.
 
• Taste in clothes:  Prefers blue or green clothes in utilitarian styles.
 
• Food preferences:  Anything that’s edible, but prefers meats, cheeses
and poultry.  Loves fish as he never had it at home.
 
• Health habits: Good, understands the value of his health.
 
• Recreation activities or hobbies:  Loves travel and the outdoors. Enjoys
game that require the ability to read people, but knows he has no poker
face.
 
• Pets: None.
 
• Favorite possessions:  Father’s Morningstar, Mother’s locket.
 
• Mannerisms, expressions, gestures:  Can you say, Farmboy?
 
• Worst physical trait:  Has scars on his arms and face from his brush
with death, Pale skin and white hair make him seem older than he actually
is.
 
• Best physical trait:  If not overly strong, he’s in good shape with only
a little pudge on him.
 
• Reason he or she is motivated:  Seeks new home and a family, but first
wants to get much stronger to be able to protect his family.
 
• 2 Enemies:  The village headmaster’s wife and son.

decisions, knows how much a rash decision can change someone’s life.

the dark power he was given.  Long term, finding a new home, building a
family, finding out exactly why his uncle was worshiping Velsharoon.
