I have no problem with frontier games that are miserly, provided character advancement happens fairly rapidly (3-5 sessions) so that the characters don't get boring. My vote goes towards Planescape or Ecumenopolis, followed by Etherscope or a frontier game. I have no problem with frontier games that are miserly, provided character advancement happens fairly rapidly (3-5 sessions) so that the characters don't get boring.
