Spellbred

What happens when a living spell breeds with a living organism? The spellbred template can be applied to any living creature to create a spellbred creature. This template merges that creature with any arcane or divine spell.

  • Type: Aberration
  • Size: Same as base creature
  • HD: creature's racial HD + nD10, where n is 1/2 the spell level
  • AC: Gains deflection bonus equal to 1/2 spell level
  • Attack: base creature's abilities, plus a slam attack, as living spell
  • SA: Spell effect, as living spell; this may be delivered as a touch attack, even in a grapple (they cannot engulf)
  • SQ: +2 saves vs mind affecting, DR 5/magic, SR 10 + 1/2 spell level
  • Saves: all poor- do not use the base creature's saves
  • Abilities: as base creature
  • Notes: If the base creature takes any metamagic feats, those feats MAY apply to the spell effect. Add to the spell level as the feat normally would (maximize spell adds +3 to the spell level). If this value is less than the creature's HD, they may deliver the spell with the feat. Other metamagic feats, like still spell, silent spell, etc. have no useful effect.
  • CR: base creature's CR + 1/2 spell level
  • LA: base creature's LA + 1/2 spell level
