Here are the example weapons/armors for each category from the 13th Age Core Rulebook.
- Melee Weapons
- Unarmed (p168): Str -2 vs AC, (lvl/2)d6 + str
- Two-Weapon Fighting: Reroll a 2 on d20.
- Small 1h: baton, club, dagger, knife, sickle
- Small 2h: big club, scythe
- Light 1h: hand axe, javelin, mace, shortsword, wicked big knife
- Light 2h: spear
- Heavy 1h: bastard sword, battleaxe, flail, hammer, longsword, morningstar, scimitar
- Heavy 2h: dire flail, dwarven double-axe, greataxe, greatsword, halberd, polearms, heavy warhammer
- Ranged Weapons
- Attack Nearby Only:
- Small, thrown: baton, club, dagger, knife, sickle
- Small, crossbow: hand crossbow
- Attacks Far at -2
- Light, thrown: axe, javelin, spear
- Attacks Far
- Light, crossbow: light crossbow

- Heavy, crossbow: heavy crossbow

- Armor
- Light: Heavily padded vest, leather armor, studded leather, cured animal hide, a suit of quicksilver beetles, dragonhide, light chainmail shirt
- Heavy: Heavy chainmail, ring armor, scale mail, half-plate, plate armor, most dragonscale armor
- Shield: Generally +1
