Bombastic Giff
Fuelwen: A distantly familiar voice blasted out across the deck of the ship. We were rescued, not only by revolutionaries bent on invading Fan, but by revolutionaries that consorted with that explosion-favoring Giff that "helped" us defend the ironically named Great Fortress.
Which nearly blew our cover- we were not supposed to be aboard, and should the revolutionaries discover us, we would be pressed into service. As one might imagine, "blending in" was a sizable challenge, although the quinquireme was gigantic- there was plenty of space to hide.
It was the Shark that really blew our cover. As normal, he got hungry. And this time, he decided the crew looked delicious. The crew protested, tracked me down. We were near shore anyway, so I went overboard of my own will. It's not a fight worth having.
Splat: Okay, so, the fat guy? He's the first person to truly understand me. I totally wanna wand of wandiness that makes things explode, like his. AWESOME.
Brilla: I knew this ship was in a sour state the moment I saw that fire-happy giff on board. I made idle chit-chat with him, but quickly tried to part ways before somehow bursting into flames. Honestly, who would let someone capable of producing so much fire on a ship?
I know we were supposed to lay low, but I had two things that just kept bugging me. One was the poor state in which the ship was working. The second was the emanate attack on Fan. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone by not only telling the giants everything they were doing wrong but also drive them toward where Takeshi dwelled. Either he would sink the ship or we would at least be left off somewhere close to meet with him and give him his time elemental.
I met with a marginal success. They took all of my information to use but also threw me in the brig as a possible spy. This is no real skin off my back as I'm pretty sure I can escape if need be. The great thing about ballista is they often lack the ability to shoot straight up into the air.
TskTsk: The hippopotamus man likes to blow things up and part of me admires him for that simplicity. Another part of me realizes that one cannot solve everything with a hammer. This is why I've tried my hand at diplomacy in recent months. I must admit I'm awful at it but that is why one practices.
Yeah, the harbor was a trap
Fuelwen: Takeshi found me, I alerted him to the incoming revolutionaries, and he mostly dispatched them. The Shark and I flitted about enjoying those that fell overboard- although the Shark, with his mystic powers, was always just enough ahead of me that I could never truly fulfill my blood frenzy.
Brilla: Sinking the ship it is! With a few swings I was able to break down the bars to my cell and I carried Callow and Ko to the safety of the shore. I bit of an exhausting task as although I wasn't really carrying them, I can still feel their weight on the flight.
Takeshi later told us that he would meet with us at our ship. Nothing for us to do now but wait.
TskTsk: The harbor is a clusterfuck of dangers. Takeshi soundly deploys his abilities, showing us what damage he can do to defend his homeland. I hope that I am able to turn aside Daudir in such a fashion.
Takeshi's herald is a douche
Fuelwen: Our objective completed, Takeshi's herald arrived to take possession of the Time Elemental, and tell us that the islands would be frozen for about n weeks. He also offered a riddle- if we could guess what question we should ask, he would tell us the answer. I was tempted to mechanistically narrow down the probabilities, but time was short, and the party was impatient. We surrendered the question and sent the herald home.
TskTsk: I found no pleasure in dealing with Takeshi's herald, other than mentally ripping out his spine.
Brilla: Takeshi didn't meet with us directly, but sent another proxy to talk to us. Of interest, it is one of the ones that was hunting for Bo. There seemed to be no left over aggression from the two so we let him on the ship to discuss matters.
He gives us the ability to ask a question and he would give us a much needed answer. Most of the questions we had pertaining to our quest did not seem to hone in on the proxies information. We eventually ran through his patience and he left our ship. Perhaps it was all just an exercise in patience in the end.
Drn Tg
Fuelwen: We resupplied on DrnTg, only to find that the island was in chaos. The gnomish invasion had collapsed the government. Shockingly, Brilla's Mystical College still survived.
I managed to purchase a potion of Wisdom- for an emergency.
TskTsk: The island is surrounded by a giant nest of kelp and vines, with only one way in. This entrance is guarded but we are permitted to pass. Apparently the clutch mother "owns" land here.
While on the island I shock my clutch mates by seeking out the library to research the geneaology of the magnificent Kord. I wish to know if I am worthy to wear dragon hide.
Brilla: I'm glad to see at least a little knowledge has been gained about the scimitar. The had a few questions that I luckily had the answers for. Their eyes shone bright when I told them what I knew, so I'm expecting some big results in the coming months.
I also saw Firebird while here. :3 :3 :3 :3 OMG so CUTE!!!
Attacking Daudir—PSYCH!
Fuelwen: Our next objective was to kill Duadir. We sailed to his island to check the lay of the land, and discovered that his time here had been well spent- a gigantic fortress had been constructed, labyrinthine on the inside, and protected by the Draconic dwarves that constituted his get/harem/associates.
We need siege equipment. Given that our time is short, we must return after completing the Celestine ritual.
TskTsk: Being ethereal I glide through the hallways of mine enemy's lair. Deeper and deeper, I find myself running short on time and have to decide if I will strike or if I will plan. Months ago I would've jumped into the battle but time has given me wisdom and I return to my clutch to plan.
It seems that my caution yields no boon, as we are to quickly depart to settle the matter of the Celestians. I am angered and nearly stay behind, even though I know it means my death. The clutch mother convinces me to go with them, promising that we will return. I sit aboard the ship quietly as it sails away.
Brilla: I guess between all that dragon humping they must have found the time to make an immense fortress. Needless to say, it is something that we can't tackle.
Sail to Moonless in search of Celestians
Fuelwen: We went directly to Moonless, and sought out The Lord. If anyone knew how to find the Celestines, he would be the right choice…
TskTsk: This Lord accepts our offer of 500gp and a month's service of each of us. The clutch mother steadfastly refused to trade the month of service and I offer in her stead. In return we are told that the Celestians can be found with the Fey.
