The State of the Milding

Fuelwen: The Milding hasn't changed much. I know, I know, I shouldn't be surprised. Case in point: Linnaeus held Do Wop against an invading force, despite the ravaging by devils. It's thrice-decimated, but rebuilding is already on its way. I don't expect it to be very long before it looks like when we first arrived. I dislike it and it disturbs me.

Brilla: Upon our arrival we found Do Wop to be in ruin. It has been far too long since the opposing kingdom has attacked and we later found out that it was devils that caused this to happen. Taking advantage of their decimation, we fund some rebuilding as well as another branch of the Wilding Preservation Society. So far, this seems to be one of the few things that we have been very successful in. Perhaps we should change from cargo to networking.

Burn that bridge when we come to it

Fuelwen: I fully expected some kind of resistance from the Devils. As the saying goes, "If you think you got a good deal from a devil, count your fingers, count your limbs, and count your relatives." As per the letter of the law, they vacated my dungeon at the expiration of their lease. And promptly staked out all of the land surrounding my dungeon.

We're going to have to pry them off of it, but first we must deal with the internals of my dungeon. This prime must be disconnected from the planes. To get in, we must pay the devils a toll. Bo negotiates his own passage, and we negotiate one that's more suited to my talents: we must kill a mid-ranking leader while he's on guard duty.

Brilla: It appears that Fuelwen did not negotiate his contract very well with the devils. They have taken up camp surrounding the dungeon and are now charging entry into their lands. This wouldn't be too bad, except for the fact that the only thing in their lands is the dungeon!

Bo is able to pay his way through by promising not to do something that he can't already do. They set the price very high for the rest of us and I am able to come to an agreement. We will eliminate the current watch captain's boss in exchange for entry. We are not given much information other than when he will be at his post. We prepare as best we can and make ready for the night.

This guy is a pushover!

Fuelwen: We fight him. It is a long and dangerous combat, at at one point I actually plummeted nearly 100 feet. Through sheer luck, I landed on my feet, and my shins did not fly up through my skull. The corpse landed on me. It was unpleasant.

Brilla: This fight was filled with frustration. Through summoning on both sides and a variety of ice walls, the combat was cluttered and a bit obscene. The ice devil in charge sent an imp out saying that we were breaking our agreement by crossing the gate, but my argument is that they were not facilitating our previously negotiated rate for entry and has to cross to tender it.

In second thought, we could have just negotiated with this devil for entry by selling out the one that stated us our previous payment.

Inside the Dungeon

Fuelwen: I requested traps, and there were certainly traps. I was driven insane by the first one. My cohorts remember the event more clearly than I do- and they are certainly not fond of the experience. Apparently, I tried to wrestle Ko and lost.

Brilla: The dungeon is clean and looks like it has been maintained by its previous host. We soon found, though, that they placed a great number of traps inside. The first that we hit was quite a nasty one. Fuelwen triggered it and was stricken by a case of insanity. We had to spend the night to properly heal him in the morning. This also gave me time to prepare myself to find some traps...

That was supposed to be a trap?

Brilla: ... which a I failed utterly at. These were not really traps as much as blessings. We got a great many beneficial spells cast on us by stepping on them. Perhaps they were just there to scare away people and the devils could hit them to help them in an invasion. Who knows?

Splat: I have a new friend and his name is HERALD VICTORIOUS (yes, the capitalization is required, duh). He went and bugged the Devils for me. It was pretty awesome.

The Astral

Brilla: We decided to smash all of the gates except for the one to the astral plane since this was our easiest way there. This also took a few days to do. While doing this, we noticed that the devils have been trying to erect a wall around the inner circle of the dungeon. Splat took great joy in burning their fortifications, which I imagine frustrated them to no end.

While traveling in astral space we encountered a chunk of land that had an ancient red dragon on the other side. It has been weakened by poison and magic, the nature of this plane preventing it from getting worse or better. Bo tried to help as best he could, but the necessary herbs could only be found elsewhere in the astral. He has decided to make that one of his priorities while here.

In return, the dragon offered us the location of three Githzerai noble houses. Though they are not Githyanki, it is a step in the right direction.

Fuelwen: Being in the astral is an interesting experience. It is similar, yet so different, from so many of the other planes I know. Aiding the dragon is of great importance to Bo, although I think it useful as well- the dragon knows Zebre (she was the one who poisoned him) and a dragon that owes a favor is a useful thing indeed.

Introducing the Githzerai

Brilla: We decided to travel to the house of passion. There we were greeted by an elderly Githzerai that questioned us at the gate. Fuelwen and I were gained admittance.

It also appears that we are local celebrities due to the sensates, though I feel I may have been taken out of context. Evidently my frustration of my traveling companions as not understanding my reproductive system is seen as blind hate, and my adventures with my traveling companions must not have made the top 10 since there are some pretty good memories in there. Honestly, the glee I get when I see Firebird knows no bounds!

Fuelwen: My passion and commitment to my quest gained me entrance. The fact that I was recognized by the sensates gained me no end to annoyance. Of all the things to be famous for, this is the least among my choices.
