: This was completely ridiculous. We venture into the sewers to deal with the thing that has been wreaking havoc for who knows how long in this city and are immediately accused of a crime that makes no sense. Vigilantism. Absolutely ridiculous. The Silver Shields are there to protect and yet did nothing. A "bribe" later and we're declared to be temporary deputies of the Silver Shields to keep it by the books. He's apparently been missing for quite some time and his whereabouts have become known again through the torture of a summoned imp. Hopefully finding what we need doesn't prove too difficult anyways. | ||

Leaving the Sewers
- 📜Elistheren
- We are vigilantes! Which the Silver Shields do not appreciate. There's some bickering here, but there's also an obvious solution- they want to be bribed. I argue that we just pay the fees, as its the path of least resistance (an important concept in plumbing, which actually runs contrary to the teachings of Garuga, who wants water to flow uphill).

- 🌲 Qistis
- This was completely ridiculous. We venture into the sewers to deal with the thing that has been wreaking havoc for who knows how long in this city and are immediately accused of a crime that makes no sense. Vigilantism. Absolutely ridiculous. The Silver Shields are there to protect and yet did nothing. Not that I'm saying that it was pleasurable to take care of the ooze or that I necessarily wanted to help at all, but still, it needed doing and we did it. A "bribe" later and we're declared to be temporary deputies of the Silver Shields to keep it by the books. I may be familiar with bureaucratic systems, but that doesn't mean that I'm particularly fond of them.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:45], As we rise from the depths and the stench of the sewers we are met by the bright glare reflecting off of the armor of several Silver Sheilds. They do not appreciate our fast response to the crisis, which honestly, I can't blame them. We don't really have jurisdiction here. We talk with them for a while and they agree to logging us as temporary deputies with the associated fees.
A New Mission—Bag and Grab
- 📜Elistheren
- I've heard of Inigo Sharpe, but only just. Apparently, he worked for the Archmage, left before finishing some work, and the Archmage wants him back. They thought he was dead, until an imp conveyed that he was not. This becomes quite the point of frustration- imps are lying tricksters, even when they are bound to tell the truth, they'll still lie in spirit. We need the full testimony of the imp, but no- this will not be provided.
- I'd call this a stunning lack of professionalism, but I'm not stunned in the least. Just annoyed.
- 🐾 Kaelon
- Empty
- 🌲 Qistis
- An old acquaintance (though that's putting it nicely, truely he always put me off) came to us with a task from the Archmage himself (glory be his powerful magics, ugh) to retrieve a man by the name of Inigo Sharpe. The name rings a bell. He's famous for having worked with almost all of the Icons. Truthfully I'm sure he's worked for all of them, but some of it has god off the books per say. He's apparently been missing for quite some time and his whereabouts have become known again through the torture of a summoned imp. Surely the easiest way to ensure some truthful information but I was myself never fond of such practices. Either way, we have our information and we'll be paid well for the man's retrieval.
- His last known contact is a man by the name of Finnigan, so we're off to see him first.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:105]This man has a mustache wider than his face and a job. He and Elviro have worked out the details on a bag and grab job for the Archmage. As we work out details it is obvious that Qistis knows this man, and does not like him.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:106] Inigo Sharpe is a famous architect, inventor, magician, and seer, who until recently was thought to be dead. He works with metal and is hidden from divinations. He is reknown for starting projects with nearly all of the major icons ... and not finishing them.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:107] During another divination an imp let slip that Inigo is still alive.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:108] As part of our payment for this project each of us is given a magical item. I'm given ornately crafted elven leather armor with magic.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 31:106] I hate elves.
- [Book of the Siege of the Deep, the Surface Skirmishes, 67:04] I hate elves.
- [Book of the Siege of the Deep, Battle of the Lost Forge, 02:345] I hate elves.
Travel by Sea
- 📜Elistheren
- Speaking of things that are annoying: sea travel. I had to dive overboard with a rope to rescue one of our members.
- 🐾 Kaelon
- Empty
- 🌲 Qistis
- I hate sea travel. Some boats on our tail cause us to veer off course and so we need to travel on a different route less taken, and get closer to Omen than anyone would like.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 34:45] As we travel by sea we are pursued by another ship but we manage to navigate the reefs close to shore and lose them.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 38:32] Kaelon and I lose track of time in the marketplace and nearly miss our boat leaving port.
Silver Cove
- 📜Elistheren
- Now, I'd like to return to my point from earlier: imps cannot be trusted. Perhaps the imp has been spreading rumors. Perhaps the Archmage has a leak in his organization, but the Lich King's men are here, and they're ahead of us.
- 🐾 Kaelon
- Empty
- 🌲 Qistis
- Wonderful...another backwoods village in the middle of nowhere. I'm getting tired of these "quaint" little towns we seem to be finding ourselves in so often. Why Elviro can't find us some work in a decent city with some good libraries always eludes me. We find a home to stay in for the night. Unfortunately no single accommodations but we split the rooms amongst us and I busy myself with reading while the others gather information.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:03] Silver Cove has about 300 people living there. Druid followers.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:10] I find out that the local taxidermy house is the place to hangout, as mounted fish is a prime export.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:12] I start to build a rapport with them, which is promptly ruined when I start to ask about Inigo's friend, Firigin. They ask me to leave but not before they reveal that others were in town asking the same thing the night before.
Going to Firigin's island
- 📜Elistheren
- So we rush to Firigin's island, Firigin being a known associate of Inigo Sharpe, only to find mercenaries already there, working to bash down his door. We save him, and is he thankful? Of course not.
- 🐾 Kaelon
- Empty
- 🌲 Qistis
- It was a good thing we decided to go to the man's island quickly as he seems beset by some agents of the Lich. Not quite sure why Firigin is being accosted by these types, but I'm sure it has something to do with Inigo, so we best take are of this bunch before trying to talk to the man.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:45] The island is about the size of a football field and in low tide we can wade over to it. There is a large dome of a building that serves as Firigin's home and observatory. There are also several torches, so it would seem that aren't that far behind the others looking for Firigin.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:46] The reek of clove cigarettes tells us that they are followers of the Lich King.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:47] One of them throws pillars of flame and he is taken out by Kaelon.
"Talking" with Firigin
- 📜Elistheren
- Now, perhaps his ingratitude was motivated by… the poor manners of my companions. I expected we'd have some tea, perhaps talk about religion, and ease into the broader questions of where Inigo Sharpe might be.
- Others suggested just beating it out of him, which I think complicated matters far more than it needed to.
- 🐾 Kaelon
- Empty
- 🌲 Qistis
- Annalana decides to take the more...unnecessarily aggressive...approach in order to get the man to give us some information. I don't know what good that would do seeing as he's behind his door and of course instead of scaring him into giving us Inigo's whereabouts, he flees out of some hidden entrance. Steinar tries to talk with the man by uh, walking underwater to get to his boat, while the rest of us manage to break into his house through the front door to find whatever information this man might have lying around. Hopefully finding what we need doesn't prove too difficult anyways.
- 📚 Annalana
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:62] My companions did not like my approach to getting information out of Firigin, which is to threaten his wellbeing. This reinforces my decision to fight my nature and not do the dark things that my journal has logged. I have chosen the right companions for my personal journey.
- [Book of a Noble Attempt, 46:63] Kaelon gets us into Firigin's home while Qistis talks with him, and we learn that the man is an excellent watercolor artist. He is also enamored with dental magic.
Steinar's Musings
- The group has me worried. When I came to be, I thought the Priestess' words drove me to a group that is heroic and right. What I've seen, however, pales to the stores that I store inside of me. Are they wrong? Am I wrong? If I am, does this make my existence an abomination. I've heard them say as much behind my back.
- We haven't encountered any true villains yet. I suppose that is a good thing; a world without villains is a world that can see rest. Annalana keeps telling em we live in a world of shades of grey. This is... new to me.
- I really don't know if I have it in me to be the light of this group. I am not a hero; I'm a recorder of heroes. But, if I need to, can I rise to the occasion?
- In the meantime, I'll look for the light in others. Maybe, with time, I can become a lantern for others to find their way out of the darkness. At this time, though, I honestly believe it isn't in me.
