Plotting Revenge

Fuelwen: Robbed. We were robbed. I do not take such things lightly. Still, we are not exactly welcome on Moonless. We need to find a nearby port to put in and make repairs.

Brilla: Things feel a bit too hot in Moonless for us to just turn the ship around and go back. There are some repairs that are needed on the ship and we should probably change the name of it since we are burning more bridges than we are mending now-a-days. The group suggest the nearby island of Fuulyoo. I get a bad feeling from this place.

Hideaway on Fuulyoo Island

Fuelwen: The nearest minor island is truly minor. Nothing more than a spit of land and a few trees. And lots of fey. I hate fey, and they continue to earn my ire. Upon landing, we were greeted by satyrs. Tsk'Tsk let them talk him into some fool challenge, which ended with him ensorselled to sleep while pixies painted his face. Splat went lacquer diving, which had a similar effect on it.

Essentially, they got what they deserved. Of course, the fey then decided to spread the mayhem. I was… compelled… to pick flowers and dance and sing songs. It was terrible. Once we were freed of the effects, we finished repainting the boat and made our way back to Moonless.

TskTsk: Upon landing on the island we were met by a satyr, to whom I off-handedly commented that I was stronger than he was. He took the bait and challenged me to a contest of arm wrestling. I flexed and sat down, promptly falling into a magically deep slumber. When I awoke no one was around and I was decorated in fey war paint. Was I to fight?

I tracked my companions to a field, where they were gaily dancing and laughing and picking flowers, even Fuelwen. I asked why he was doing this and through laughter he strained to explain that they were enchanted.

Brilla: Fey... Why did it have to be fey? Needless to say the foolishness of TskTsk and Splat gave them their comeuppance, both being immobilized and covered in graffiti. What was unexpected was that the fey decided to go a bit far in an attempt to enchant us into doing silly things. Needless to say, it worked.

I was eventually led to a field where the fey and Bo (mostly Bo) had me dance around a field naked and pick flowers. They fey are excusable since this is in their nature. Bo is another matter altogether. I'd start adding saltpeter to his food if it wasn't for the fact that he acts as the cook.

The fey eventually dispelled their magic once the sun began to set. They left in a hurry, telling us that it is not safe out since the dark fey come out when the sun goes away. Not wishing to play twisted versions of what we already went through, we hurried back to the ship, packed everything up as quickly as possible, and set sail again to Moonless.

Diplomacy?

Fuelwen: An assault, against even a weakly fortified target, when that target is ensconced in unfriendly territory is a difficult assault to make. We cased The Lord's home, and plotted our assault. We felt that a surprise assault, executed under cover of night, would give us the best chance to bypass the guards.

TskTsk: If planning were the sea this clutch would drown in it. They talk and talk and talk. A good plan now is better than a perfect plan when it is too late.

Brilla: There were a lot of options to weight and The Lord is a crafty one indeed, much like the rest of his race. We eventually came with a plan to search for support with those he oppresses and use them as a diversion while we break into his place from the windows.

You dirty rat…

Fuelwen: We wanted a distraction. Brilla fished around the village looking for malcontents that could stage a riot, and we discovered that The Lord was overwhelmingly popular, and was viewed as the best chance against the lycanthropes.

So, she found lycanthropes. Rats. They, of course, did what rats do- they sold us out to The Lord. We learned of this because one of their members sold them back out to us. Vile creatures.

We moved the time of the attack, and decided to postpone it even further. The Lord mooted the entire thing by finding us. He claimed that his treasury had been violated. He gave us a valuable cloak in lieu of the money we were owed, and promised us the actual sum, and more, if we were to capture the thief responsible for the counterfeit coins.

He was very convincing. We went to the trusted leftenant's haunt to case plot our next move.

TskTsk: I did not trust the Lord but did not want to pass on the opportunity for some action. I want to test out these strange new weapons I've purchased.

Brilla: Through all our searching we eventually came upon some wererats that said they were against The Lord. Negotiations went well as we offered the the silver inside of his keep in exchange for help in giving us a distraction. Bo even negotiated for one of their sickly young to eat. I protested despite the fact I knew it would fall on deaf ears.

Before initiating the attack the following morning we were hailed by a wererat at our ship. We paid him for the information he had, and it was a good investment indeed. He informed us that the wererats planned on not helping us and they even informed The Lord of our intent. I suppose evil and evil often work best together. With a heavy sigh the attack was postponed.

The Lord eventually got a messenger to us asking for a meet-up. We chose the time and place; a nearby ship the following day. Negotiations went well and he informed us that the fools gold was a new development for him as well. He blamed one of his lieutenants in the matter and promised us double our false golds recoup value in payment if we dealt with this matter for him. We agreed, seeing as how we have little ways else to recoup some of our losses as of late.

Battle in the Square

🎲 DM I boobooed. The Divine Mind's aura granted +3 attack/damage/AC/DR -- I was only giving a 2. Moot, though.

Approach In Peace

Fuelwen: This trusted leftenant did have a private army. As we approached the tavern, his official guards challenged us. Several others were concealed among the buildings, and closed.

Talking failed, and the battle ensued. I joined it eagerly.

TskTsk: I kept to the shadows as things unfolded, waiting for the clutch mother's permission to strike. These humans have poor eyesight, as I was able to climb on the roof and back down while waiting for battle to ensue.

Brilla: The original idea was to go in the inn without being known and take it out quickly form the inside. This did not go well as we were recognized quickly. I'm not sure who is to blame for it, but the matter was moot at that point. I tried my best at negotiations and they went as well as to be expected. A few of the members backed down but the cavalry soon came and a real battle commenced.

The Battle Turns South (AKA, Deafness all 'round)

Fuelwen: The odds were not in our favor, but the battle went well- at least until this leftenant used his powers to afflict most of the school with a variety of ills- stunning, deafness, knockdowns. The sorcerer's carelessness cost him though- the Divine Mind running his defenses was struck by an errant attack and decided to join us in fighting him.

The leftenant escaped.

TskTsk: As the battle raged I was enchanted by magic that dulled all of my senses, rendering me impotent in the battle. I believe that Fuelwen has passed his curse on to me.

Brilla: The battle went pretty well for me. The kobald was very hard to see despite my ability to pierce his invisibility. The rest of us did not fair as well. Bo was stricken silly by attacks, TskTsk was left a drooling mess, and Fuelwen was hit with a variety of disabling attacks.

The divine mind joined our side late in the battle, but it was to little end as the kobold got away.

Jalek Turns

🎲 DM Jalek surrendered/assisted-with-finishing as the sorcerer ran away. He pleads mercy and promises to leave service of the island and go elsewhere. Resolution?

Fuelwen: This Jalek is not our quarry. I am not here to paint the streets red with the blood of all who oppose me. Not yet, anyway. I could not care less what he does, so long as he doesn't raise arms against our school again.

TskTsk: I am opinionless. The clutch mother can decide.

Brilla: Jalek is a strong fighter, but he has showing that he is willing to switch sides at a drop of a hat. I can't have someone like that as crew on the ship. This may also be a ploy to get the better of us if we were to trust him. I will report him as dead if questioned and let him leave the island with us on neutral terms. I do request to know where he is going and that we may ask him for a favor in the future for this kindness we are giving him.
