Dossiers on previous would-be rescuers
- Isade Assad
- Human Dream Watcher. A red-haired beauty, she is passionate and outspoken, though neither trait has been displayed in front of you. You impression is that her impassioned nature prevents her from achieving her true potential in the dream state. She hailed from the twin city of Filimag, and she was very fashion conscious.
- Elisya Lynyara
- Elven Dream Weaver. A traditional elven maid, Elisya carries an innocent face, soft-spoken voice, and graceful movements. She is as wise as Isade is beautiful, thought her appearance is striking as well. She is known to have originated from Silver Tree. She talked often of the beautiful birds that circled the city.
- Olivia Chifara
- Half-elven Dream Weaver. A plain-faced woman, Olivis has a shrouded past. In fact, her mind reputedly had inherent barriers against entry into her dream state. She volunteered to go after Sala on her own initiative, claiming that she felt kinship towards the victim. The elders felt that her natural resistance to coercion would be of use.
Down the Rabbit Hole
Dario: Finally the day arrives where I and my companions are to go on our trek to save the life of Sala. We stride forth into the courtyard where a collection of dream knights and their squires look on us with a naive sympathy. They believe that we will perish at worst or return failures at best, having wasted our precious dream dust. I stand proud and know—KNOW—that victory will be ours and are damsel in distress will be revived.
Before us is a table that has a ball of shimmering color, a long adamantine staff, and Sala's journal. Apparently Tarralon has finally yielded it over, having consumed it's pages. We eat our dream dust and are transported.
Serene Scene
Dario: We arrive in a happy place, near a lake on a beautiful day. The very first thing that we do is begin experimenting with the world around us. Knowing that the phantasmal killer that we seek is vulnerable to fire, I lace my greatsword with it. I also give the blade a hatred of dream creatures and that, well, backfires, as I am a dream creature in this place. I fix my error and give the blade a hatred of phantasmal killers. Lesson learned.
Follow the Path
Dario: Tarralon warps reality and casts a spell that tells him where Sala lies, and we are off. The lake before us parts, leading to a hole that continues down down down. Through a series of events, Tarralon and I are falling while under the effects of Feather Fall. When the duration runs out we are still falling and at the last minute Tarralon casts Feather Fall again.
At the bottom of the hole is another hole. We begin digging it out while we wait over an hour for the others.
Nict: Attempting to cast Heat Cushion, to allow me to drop down into the hole. I apparently offend this dream world. It backlashes at me causing me to grow into a corpulent pile that can't move of my own volition. Malyth goes through the same failure as I do. After a while, the spells wears off, & we try again. This time we succeed. I also cast the spell on Thad, & together, the three of us make our way down the hole. We get separated as Malyth fails to renew his spell so Thaddeus & I are left to avoid a boulder by taking a side cavern.
I cast a spell to find Sala's box knowing Tarralon has it, but find it in 2 directions... Puzzling. We choose one and head off in that direction.
After a while, we encounter what seem to be giant bees. I decide to try out some of my training & pour more of my inner fire into my spells. It comes easier here, & I am able to use my gift to greater effect dispatching our enemies quickly & efficiently.
Eventually, our path leads to a hole & what the hell, we decide to jump...
BEES
Nict: ...and end up falling directly at a molten sea of... what seems to be... honey? Well, whatever it is, it looks too hot even for me, but I don't have any time. I take the dream dust to boost my strength & cast give myself & my half-orc companion the ability to fly. We get a few splashes of the honey, but avoid major damage. After we land, we find our compatriots and discuss what to do next.
Dario: A sweet smoke rises from our hole and once we make it big enough we discover that it leads to inside of a giant beehive.
