Week off in the city

Duncan McBride, Rebecca Pringles Harpell, and Doomguide Garbo call a meeting of the WotMB. They inform us that Talen is being sent on a diplomatic mission to Tangletrees and we are his guards. They introduce us to Grim Graymantle, a clerist of Kelemvor, who will give us special help in keeping certain necromancers dead. They ask us to find the gem containing Jonathan Nightbringers soul which was recently stolen. Duncan believes that Janus has it or knows its whereabouts.

Nice farmers gave the party lunch

After the meeting we travel outside the city with full winter upon us to follow Layna’s instructions. On the way we meet up farmer Crimshaw Keigel who invites us to enjoy a meal with he and his wife Carol. Ist,vaech is quite mean and seems to enjoy the weather more than the farmers company. Rhobim learns that the Keigels’ have a son in the city guard and are concerned about bandits wandering the area. Rhobim seems to know something about the bandits…

Abandoned homestead

After we head to the abandoned farmhouse Layna directed us towards. All seems empty except for some guard tabards hidden away until someone tries to lift the porch from under Grim, Ist, and Simon. All make ready to confront these bandits under the porch while Grim and Simon lift the porch. Underneath we find a well organized group of mage haters who were formerly led by the Mageslayer. Grim’s use of dim door helps to put the shield wall and leadership in a pinch and we warriors breeze through without much aid of Kelemvor.

Killed in the battle was a Harpell the group had suborned through some means. The leader tried to escape through the tunnels but was eventually sliced lurking behind a door. Rhobim actually used Glory and Ist’vaech became so angry at locked doors she almost spontaneously combusted.
