LRC:Death and Return of Ist'Vaech

Questioning the body of the old man

Having cast Gentle Repose on the body of the old man, Travis, Wes spends the rest of his night considering questions and in the morning he casts Speak with the Dead:

1. Did Alouette blame me for what happened to her and the other villagers?
   Alouette always believed that you did the best you could, and found no fault in your actions.
2. How can I save my son?
   Kill him.
3. What was Levistus' plan with the villagers?
   He split most of us up. My group has been moving around for years, listening on the enemies of Levistus.
4. If you escaped here though a portal, where is this portal located?
   I escaped from the foggy world through a portal that had not been fully closed. The day was clear on the other side and I was by the sea.
5. What are Levistus' current plots that you know of?
   I do not know of his plans.

Going Ethereal

Asa tell guides the party to the nearest location where the tapestry between the material plane and the ethereal plane was thin enough to allow him to transfer everyone. Unsurprisingly, he led the party to the location of the burned-to-the-ground abandoned house.

Soon after making the transition, the party was discovered by lemures and a nightmare-riding Narzugon devil. The face of the narzugon was so terrifying that it scared to death both Brick and Ist'Vaech. Concerned about the unborn child, the Warriors evacuated IMMEDIATELY! and rushed to see Nyles Harpell for an emergency resurrection.

The ghost of a monk-like warrior assisted the party in the combat until Wolfdale accidentally struck her and then she began to attack him.

Wes' sacrifice

Once at Scarletstone, the party called for Nyles immediately. He rushed in, and began surgery to find the unborn child in Ist'Vaech's body. Simon arrived and promptly fainted at the sight of Nyles elbow deep in the body of his betrothed.

Uncertain that the Raise Dead would work on the unborn child, Wes volunteered to sacrifice a portion of his life force in an attempt to ensure that Bubble Boy survived.
